From the North East of England to the silver screen, Lee Hall boasts a seriously impressive CV. Renowned for his unique ability to capture the heart and soul of working-class life, the Geordie writer has penned some of the most culturally significant works of British theatre and film. Perhaps best known for writing Billy Elliot, the story of a young boy from County Durham who wants to become a ballet dancer during the Miners’ Strike, Lee has written a variety of successful screenplays and stage productions, including Rocketman, War Horse and The Pitman Painters.
