SUMMARY:Becky Umbers & Eli Matthewson – Edinburgh warm ups
DESCRIPTION:Two multi-award-winning\, 5-star comedians from New Zealand warm up for the Edinburgh Festival. \nBecky Umbers – Tell That Horse To Keep His Mouth Shut\nIn a world overflowing with misinformation\, is the only way to get the truth to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth?\nBut what if that horse disagrees with me?\nWhat if that horse is lying?\nWhat if that horse… is part of the cover-up? \nWe all have that person in the family. The aunt who’s convinced the Earth is flat. The cousin who’s pretty sure the world is secretly run by lizards in human suits. In this show\, Becky dives headfirst into the weird\, wonderful world of conspiracy theories — including a few of her own. \nWhy do people believe these theories? Are they onto something? Are you a conspiracy theorist? Are you a lizard? (Blink twice if yes. Wait\, can lizards blink?) \nTell That Horse To Keep His Mouth Shut is a fun\, silly comedy show that aims to question\, understand— but mostly entertain— at a time when reality itself sounds made up. \nIf you’re hoping for definitive proof the moon landing was fake\, this is not the show for you.But if you’ve ever argued with someone whose theory makes no sense and thought\, “How did we get here?” — welcome. \nEli Matthewson: Youth Mobility \nEli Matthewson is the first ever New Zealander to move to London and he has done it right on time for the end of the world. Just as life was starting to feel safe and secure\, he has thrown it all away and scraped into the UK on the last possible week he could qualify for the youth mobility visa. A show about doing everything you can to make something of yourself before society completely crumbles. \n“Punchlines that whip back around like a tossed ponytail” – Theatreview\n“That most generous of comedy things: a personal show that feels inclusive\, offering a series of vignettes that invite introspection without ever getting preachy.” ★★★★  – The Recs\n“Smart\, silly\, and thoroughly entertaining.”  ★★★★ – EdFest Mag\n★★★★ – Three Weeks\n★★★★ Scotsman\n★★★★ Chortle\n★★★★ Voice Mag

SUMMARY:General Medical Emergency Ward 10
DESCRIPTION:Following a fire in The Alex’s main hall\,  this event has been relocated to The Arden Theatre. Leslie Smith Dr\, Faversham ME13 8PW ( In the Central carpark)  \n\nThe award-winning Dyad Productions and Company Gavin Robertson are joining forces! \nIt’s a pedigree of the first degree! Between them\, Dyad’s recent productions – Austen’s Women: LADY SUSAN\, A Christmas Carol\, A Room of One’s Own\, That Knave\, Raleigh – and Gavin Robertson\, with Done to Death by Jove!\, The Ghost of a Smile andBOND – An Unauthorised Parody have toured both the UK and internationally\, with resounding success over the last few years. Labouring away in secret\, looking for the perfect co-production has taken time\, but finally the answer has arrived! \nEvery hospital\, medical-based\, Doctors-and-Nurses cliché-ridden drama onstage in a comedy mash-up spoof! \nIt’ll have you in stitches! \nIt’s Dr Ann Fleming’s first day at St David’s\, where her unfortunately-named mentor Dr Death\, is determined to show her who’s boss. As medical emergencies overload the hapless staff\, Dr Fleming has to juggle a complicated budding love affair\, with a kidney\, and a nosey Hospital boss. Not literally. \nYes – Holby City\, Casualty\, E.R. and Doctors – not to mention movies galore\, are re-imagined and invigorated by Rebecca Vaughan\, Andrew Margerison and Gavin Robertson in a pacy\, cliché-ridden comic homage to the intrigues and dramas of every hospital plotline on the big and small screen! \nTo be taken once a day (or twice if there’s a matinee). \nCreated in collaboration with the Old Town Hall\, Hemel Hempstead. \n★★★★★ ‘If you haven’t seen Dyad Productions’ work before\, you simply must’ – British Theatre Guide\n★★★★★ ’Robertson performs with a subtle conviction that’s compelling to watch’ – The Guardian
