SUMMARY:Jacqui Dankworth: The Sondheim Songbook
DESCRIPTION:Important Notice: Fire at the Alexander Centre \nOn New Year’s Eve\, a fire occurred at the rear of our Gatefield Hall\, The Alex’s main events space. Thankfully\, no one was in the venue and there were no injuries. Unfortunately\, this event has been cancelled. \nWe will be\, or may already have been\, in touch with all current ticket holders directly. SUMMARY:My Life with Kenneth Williams – The Arden Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Important Notice: Fire at the Alexander Centre\nOn New Year’s Eve\, a fire occurred at the rear of our Gatefield Hall\, The Alex’s main events space. Thankfully\, no one was in the venue and there were no injuries. This event has been relocated to The Arden Theatre. Leslie Smith Dr\, Faversham ME13 8PW (In the Central carpark)  \nWe will be\, or may already have been\, in touch with all current ticket holders directly. If you have any questions\, please get in contact via email at bookings@thealex.org.uk or by phone on 01795 591691. \nTo read more about the fire and its effects please click HERE \n\nDavid Benson burst onto the theatre scene in 1996\, taking the Edinburgh Fringe by storm with Think No Evil Of Us: My Life with Kenneth Williams. Critics\, audiences and close friends of Williams were unanimous in their praise. \nNow\, in celebration of Kenneth Williams’ 100th Birthday on 22 February\, David Benson revisits his classic performance of the much-missed Carry On star in a new version of the show exploring the astonishing connection that intertwined his life with that of Williams when Benson was still a schoolboy. In a dazzling display of impeccably honed stage craft\, he gives an unsparing portrayal of the tormented comic genius\, lurching from hilarity to self-pity in public and in private. David Benson has most recently been seen touring nationwide (Including a visit to The Alex!) with Jack Lane in their acclaimed Dad’s Army Radio Show. \n‘A masterpiece of comic timing’ – Evening Standard\n‘Brilliant… truly remarkable’ – Mail on Sunday

SUMMARY:The Faversham Magna Carta - Alex Jubilee Room
DESCRIPTION:The Magna Carta is perhaps one of the most revered documents in our history but also one that is open to a number of misunderstandings. It is with great pleasure that we have the country’s leading expert to cast light on some of the dark shadows in this document and on our own town’s charters. \nDavid Carpenter is Professor of Medieval History at King’s College London and author of Magna Carta: A New Commentary in the Penguin Classics series. He recently discovered a hitherto unknown original of Magna Carta in the Library of the Harvard Law School. \nJoin us for this fascinating and enlightening talk—you won’t want to miss it!
