SUMMARY:Total Electric Guitar Show\, performed by Richard Rozze.
DESCRIPTION:Important Notice: Fire at the Alexander Centre\nThis event is still going ahead. Following a fire in our main hall on New Year’s Eve\, the event has been rescheduled for Friday 3rd July 2026 and will now take place in our Bar area. \nWe apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding. \nTo read more about the fire and its effects\, please click HERE \n\nRichard Rozze is an accomplished electric and acoustic guitarist\, vocalist\, composer\, and arranger. Influenced by classic British rock\, blues\, jazz\, Celtic\, and bluegrass\, Richard holds a Masters in Jazz and draws inspiration from legends like Miles Davis\, Wes Montgomery\, and Pat Metheny. \nHe explores acoustic roots music with the group Open Water\, showcasing his songwriting and multi-instrumental talents on Dobro\, tenor banjo\, and mandolin. His guitar work has drawn comparisons to Peter Green and Eric Johnson\, while his vocals echo Nick Drake and Jackson Browne. \nRichard’s jazz-inspired debut album Learning to Fly (2014) earned praise\, with his version of Wichita Lineman featured on BBC Radio 3. His latest release\, Lion (2023)\, features Jonathan Noyce (Jethro Tull) and Simon Lea (Ronnie Wood)\, blending blues\, rock\, and jazz with rich songwriting and vision. \nTonight’s show features music from Lion alongside inventive interpretations of classic blues\, rock\, and pop. Richard is joined by Wez Johnson on drums and Steve Bridgland on bass.\n\nPraise for Lion:\n“A classy set of self-penned blues-rockers with some tasty soloing.” – RnR Magazine\n“Fuses rock aggression\, jazz sensibilities\, and sheer musical invention.” – Get Ready to ROCK!\n“If it were a drink\, it would be Bailey’s Irish Cream… a mature cat.” – PowerPlay Magazine
