SUMMARY:Teabreak
DESCRIPTION:TEABREAK is a beautifully hand painted touring Tuk Tuk which offers audiences a cup of chai\, and a two-hander contemporary Indian dance piece. \nHave a well-deserved TEABREAK\, and as you stir your cup gently glide through an audio journey of tea and how it’s found itself into our pots. Tea leaves have journeyed across continents and centuries to take its place as the great comforter of our time. \nWith tea served from Trigger’s beautifully hand-painted tuk tuk\, this gentle performance brings an uplifting moment of pause. Uniting people across the world and throughout our lives\, inviting us to rest awhile\, appreciate all that we have\, honour moments that have passed\, and ready ourselves for what’s to come. \nThis free event\, presented in collaboration with Creek Creative\, will take place in Market Square. \n\n“The generosity with which it deals with the subjects is amazing. An amazing selection of voices.” \n‘”A beautiful mix of reminiscence and dance and the simple pleasures in life.” \n“Tea is a political drink. TEABREAK moves joyfully from colonisation and commodification to ‘moments of self-care’ and celebration. Delightful work from Trigger.”
