Exhibition by Swale Friends of the Earth
Presenting a vision of a future in 20 years’ time in which the right environmental choices have been made.
Lovely World is an exciting and visionary free event, inspired by the film 2040, and the book by Jonathan Porritt, The World We Made. Find out how technologies and policies, behaviours and actions across the world, have the potential to transform the quality of our environment and of our lives for the better. Including energy, transport, food, employment, leisure, clothing and design, the built and natural environments, how communities could live; the event aims to bypass the usual doom and gloom; bringing together over 30 different organisations, from both commercial and voluntary sectors who are working to offer low-carbon, planet-focused, energy efficient solutions that will inspire us all!
Come and get a glimpse of a possible Lovely World, as if it just passed by… There is also a programme of talks, films, poetry and performances, a clothes swap and workshops taking place over the weekend.
A flowing programme of live events, including talks, films, new poetry and sound art commissioned especially for Lovely World from Faversham poet, Rebecca Lehmann, and sound artist, Ben Horner will run through the weekend. A clothes swap will run on both days – and there are several workshops taking place both days.
